The upper Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown is a hub of thriving art galleries. Several of these galleries host events, exhibitions, art walks, tours and receptions. We invite you to explore the area, visit our fellow galleries, and explore an eclectic mix of works.
In the gallery's current iteration, we rarely take consignments. We are able to consider purchasing works and ask that you send clear photographs of the piece’s front and back, details, signature if any, as well as provide the piece’s provenance and dictate your desired price to info@lenfantgallery.com. We try to get back to emails concerning acquisitions within 4-6 weeks, as we receive many inquiries of this nature and want to be as thorough as possible.
In order to obtain an appraisal license in the U.S., one must complete an 87-hour appraisal course and work under an appraisal mentor for a certain number of years before qualifying for the board’s consideration. Though he held a certificate at one point in his tenure, Peter Colsante no longer holds an appraisal licence and as such is unable to conduct or provide ‘appraisals’. He is, on occasion and for a fee, able to provide a written ‘opinion letter’ based on his 50+ years of experience. These letters are often accepted and respected by those within the art field. We are connected to many specialists within the art and antique fields who hold an appraisal license, and with whom we have first-hand experience. We provide details of these people here and welcome you to refer to them directly.
